Cristiano Ronaldo congratulates compatriots on Portugal Day

Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo extended his congratulations to his fellow countrymen on the significant national holiday—Portugal Day. The football star shared a celebratory post on his Instagram page to mark the occasion.
Ronaldo posted a photo of himself in the Portugal national team kit, captioning it with the phrase “Happy Portugal Day.”
It's worth noting that Portugal Day is celebrated on June 10th. This date was chosen because, on this day in 1580, Luís de Camões, the great Portuguese poet and a national symbol, passed away.
The Portuguese national football team delivered a fantastic gift to the nation for this important day by defeating Spain on June 8th in the final of the Nations League. This victory secured the third trophy in the history of the Portuguese national team.
It’s also worth recalling that Ronaldo made his mark with a goal against Spain, leveling the score midway through the second half. Due to an injury, Portugal’s captain and talisman was unable to finish the match, but his teammates rallied without him and clinched victory in the penalty shootout.
