The Paraguayan swimmer was expelled from the official athletes' village following the conclusion of her events at the Games.

According to Marca, the athlete in question is Luana Alonso. The Paraguayan Olympic Committee removed her from the Olympic Village due to her creating an "inappropriate environment" for her delegation after a sightseeing tour of Paris.

"Your presence has created an unsuitable atmosphere within the Paraguayan team. We appreciate your compliance with the instructions, as you did not spend the night in the athletes' village of your own volition," stated Larissa Scherer, the head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee.

Furthermore, Luana Alonso unexpectedly announced her retirement from competitive swimming following these Olympic Games. At 20 years old, this was her second Olympic appearance. In Paris, she participated in only one event and was close to advancing to the semifinals. However, after finishing second, Luana Alonso left the Olympic Games.

It is worth noting that a similar scandal occurred at this Olympics, with Brazil expelling swimmer Ana Carolina Vieira from their team.
