Crazy money. The cost of sacking Rosenior revealed for Chelsea
Liam Rosenior’s dismissal after just 103 days at the helm of Chelsea has turned out to be not only a major reputational hit, but also an extremely costly decision for the London club.
Details: Given that the manager signed a long-term contract in January 2026, running until 2032, an early termination triggers substantial obligations. According to football.london, Chelsea will have to pay Rosenior compensation in the region of £24 million (around €28 million).
This payment will be yet another heavy burden on the club’s budget, which has already been stretched in recent years by huge severance payouts to previous managers such as Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, and Enzo Maresca.
Reminder: Chelsea is choosing between two candidates to replace Rosenior.
