Court hearings on multiple allegations against Chelsea to begin this week
Chelsea are set to face legal proceedings over a series of violations committed under the club’s previous ownership.
Details: According to Martin Ziegler of The Times, hearings will begin this week regarding 74 breaches related to dealings with agents. All of these violations occurred under the club’s former owner Roman Abramovich, who controlled Chelsea until 2022.
The new owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, voluntarily reported the breaches to the Premier League after taking over the club. Because of this, they hope the punishment will be limited to a fine rather than a points deduction or any other severe sanction. However, it remains unclear when a verdict will be delivered.
Reminder: Chelsea are preparing for their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash with Atalanta, but they are doing so without their star Cole Palmer, who missed the latest training session.
