Liverpool unexpectedly failed to secure a victory against Fulham (2:2) in the 16th round of the Premier League. The Reds played most of the match with ten men after Andrew Robertson was sent off in the 17th minute.

After the game, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot emphasized that Robertson's red card was the key turning point of the match.

Quote: "I don’t think I could have asked for more from my players, especially after we went down to ten men. I couldn’t ask for more in terms of performance and results. Of course, we could have gained two more points. At the start of the game, you always want to start with intensity. Thirty seconds in, one of our players was on the ground and needed treatment for a while, so we couldn’t push for more intensity.

We worked hard as a unit. The players put in an outstanding performance in pressing. We had more problems playing 11 versus 11 than when we were down to ten. These situations happen over the course of a season where you get a red card. It’s good to know we are a team that’s very difficult to beat.

We’ve dropped points against Nottingham, Arsenal, and Newcastle. You can look at it that way, but you certainly don’t want to drop points in home matches against Forest and Fulham," Slot told Sky Sports.

Reminder: After 15 matches, Liverpool has 36 points. Arne Slot's team leads the Premier League table.
