Considering a return home. Lucas Paquetá could move to Flamengo this summer
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paquetá of West Ham, despite interest from other clubs, is not expected to leave the London side during the winter transfer window, but is already open to a move back to Brazil in the summer.
Details: According to Globoesporte, the player is hoping for a transfer after the 2026 World Cup. West Ham are willing to listen to offers for Paquetá in the summer, but only for a fee of no less than £53 million. The club's management rates his role highly and has no intention of letting him go for less.
The Brazilian revealed that he wanted to return to Flamengo last summer, but chose not to push for the transfer out of respect for West Ham, who supported him during the investigation into betting allegations.
"I really did think about returning to Flamengo, but I didn’t put pressure on the club. West Ham stood by me when I was going through the toughest time," Paquetá said.
This season could therefore be the Brazilian’s last in an English shirt.
Lucas Paquetá has already featured in twelve matches for West Ham this season, netting four goals. Transfermarkt currently values him at €35 million.
Reminder: West Ham midfielder Tomáš Souček admitted that he considered retiring due to insomnia.
