Details: According to Diario Sport, Barcelona’s Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong is at odds with the club’s management regarding his treatment methods. As a reminder, the player has been struggling with a knee injury, which has hindered his ability to consistently feature for the Blaugrana.

De Jong refuses to undergo surgery, while the Catalan club believes his current treatment methods are ineffective and that an operation is the only reliable solution. As a result, Barcelona’s medical staff are pressuring the player to accept their terms and go under the knife.
The club also suspects that Frenkie de Jong protected himself last season to be fit for the World Cup, and there are ongoing disagreements regarding his recovery timeline, which, according to Barça, has already significantly exceeded the initial schedule.
Head coach Hansi Flick is also unhappy with the situation and wants it resolved as soon as possible.
In the 2025/26 season, de Jong made 33 appearances for Barcelona, scoring one goal and providing eight assists.
