Conflict erupts at Sunrisers! Team rookie points captain Kishan to the pavilion during training match
Emotions ran high at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) training camp.
Details: During Saturday’s intra-squad practice match, acting captain Ishan Kishan found himself at the center of a heated incident with young leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari.
After the bowler outsmarted his skipper and forced a costly mistake, the stadium witnessed an unexpected spectacle. Ansari, unable to contain his emotions, pointedly gestured for the captain to head back to the pavilion.
The incident unfolded in the eighth over of the second innings, and at first, it seemed Kishan was in full control. The star batsman unleashed a barrage of powerful strokes, smashing Ansari for two sixes and two fours off the first four deliveries. But on the fifth ball, the spinner found a weakness: Kishan misjudged the trajectory and sent the ball straight into the hands of a fielder. Zeeshan celebrated with exuberant gestures as Kishan, keeping things light, simply joked it off, not wanting to escalate the situation in front of the squad.
Despite the drama during the training match, Sunrisers management remains calm, putting their faith in Kishan’s leadership qualities—especially after he recently led his regional team to a historic first-ever title in India.
Worth noting: Several Sri Lankan players have yet to be cleared for the IPL 2026 tournament.
