The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris recently concluded, but discussions have already begun regarding the next edition of the Games. One of the key issues remains the potential participation of Russian athletes.

Details: Sebastian Coe, one of the candidates for the IOC presidency, stated that if former U.S. President Donald Trump manages to negotiate a deal with Russia, then Russian athletes could be allowed to compete.

Quote: "It is not my role to draft peace agreements. All wars end at the negotiation table. All wars conclude with a table, a map, and people. It depends on where the table is, who is sitting at it, and what the map looks like. If you reach a situation where there is a peace agreement, then you will have to look very carefully [at lifting the Olympic ban]," Coe said in an interview with Piers Morgan.

Meanwhile, the IOC presidential election will take place on March 20, when 110 members of the organization will gather in Greece to vote for one of the seven candidates.

Reminder: The U.S. President recently signed an order banning transgender athletes from competing in women's sports events.
