Colombia's national team has suffered another significant setback ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Rafael Santos Borré has been ruled out due to an abdominal injury and will miss the matches against Peru and Argentina. The Colombian Football Federation announced that Luis Suárez, the top scorer for Spain's Segunda División side Almería, will replace Borré in the squad .

Borré was initially called up to fill in for the injured Jhon Córdoba. However, after returning to action with Internacional following a period of inactivity, Borré suffered an abdominal tear that has sidelined him once again .

In response, coach Néstor Lorenzo has turned to Luis Suárez, who has had an impressive season with Almería, leading the Segunda División with 31 goals . Suárez will join the Colombian squad for the qualifiers against Peru on June 6 in Barranquilla and Argentina on June 10 in Buenos Aires.

Suárez's call-up is a significant blow for Almería, as they lose their star striker ahead of the crucial playoff semifinals for promotion to La Liga against Real Oviedo. The Andalusian club will need to adjust their attacking strategy in his absence .

With these roster changes, Colombia faces the upcoming qualifiers with a reshaped attacking lineup, aiming to secure their spot in the next World Cup.
