Club World Cup: open those wallets! How much prize money did the teams earn?
It’s been revealed just how much each team pocketed during the group stage of the Club World Cup!
Details: With the group stage wrapped up, various statistical portals have tallied the cash before the playoffs kick off. It’s important to note that these figures include playoff qualification bonuses.
Manchester City sits atop the list: after three group-stage wins, the team has already raked in $51.7 million.
Right behind the Cityzens are Real Madrid ($48.4M) and Bayern ($45.1M). Both clubs, just like Manchester City, have advanced from the group stage and will battle it out in the playoffs.
PSG ($42.8M) and Chelsea ($40.5M) round out the top five earners.
How much did African clubs make?
Mamelodi Sundowns, falling just short of the playoffs, earned $12.6 million—collecting payouts for a win (+$2M), a draw (+$1M), and goals scored (on top of the qualification money).
Hot on their heels are Egypt’s Al Ahly, who took home $11.6 million after recording two draws in the group stage.
Espérance de Tunis also banked $11.6 million, while Moroccan side Wydad earned $9.6 million—just above Auckland, who posted the lowest total at $4.6 million.
