After offloading Rodri, Manchester City show no signs of slowing down.

Details: According to insider Graeme Bailey, Manchester City have reignited contact with Chelsea regarding the transfer of right-back Malo Gusto. The 23-year-old Frenchman has long been on the Cityzens’ radar: back in early July, he agreed personal terms with the club and is eager to reunite with Enzo Maresca, under whom he played 72 matches for the London side.

Initially, Chelsea were demanding £75 million for the defender, but later reports suggested that the London club were willing to significantly lower their asking price. According to Bailey, the Blues hope to fetch over £60 million, though some sources believe an offer in the region of £45 million could be enough to seal the deal.

City are actively searching for a full-back capable of operating effectively on both flanks, and believe Gusto fits this profile perfectly. It’s worth noting that PSG also showed interest in the Frenchman in June, but the Parisians never made a concrete move.

It’s worth highlighting that Gusto joined Chelsea from Lyon in 2023 and has since made 134 appearances for the London club across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 17 assists. The defender’s current contract runs until the summer of 2030.

Reminder: Official! Man City midfielder leaves the club.
