Chippa United appoints new head coach

Chippa United wrapped up last season in 11th place in the league standings and decided it was time for a change — the club has appointed a new head coach.

Details: As announced on the club's official X page, Sinethemba Badela has taken over as the new head coach. Previously, Badela had not worked in the Premier Division. Before this appointment, he served as an assistant coach at Wydad Casablanca. His contract with Chippa United runs through the 2025/26 season.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates scouts had recommended Congolese coach Florent Ibenge to Chippa United’s management. Despite growing interest in the CAF Confederation Cup winner, the Pirates are in no rush to make an official offer.

Recall: Nasreddine Nabi recently flew to Egypt for talks with Congo striker Fiston Mayele.
