Chelsea are set to make a serious attempt to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. The forward, who is valued at over £100m, has an impressive record of 44 goals in 70 Premier League appearances.
A January move for Isak looks unlikely given the current situation, but former Chelsea striker Pat Nevin has hinted at the possibility of a surprise move for his former club.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea decided to make a ‘big bid’ for Alexander Isak in January once we know he might be available,” Nevin told Grosvenor Sport.

It’s not just Chelsea who are interested in the Swedish striker, however. Arsenal are also considering a move for him. Former Blues player Pat Nevin believes Isak will thrive at the Gunners, where he would fit in perfectly with Odegaard and Havertz.
Manchester United could also be in the running for Isak. However, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is unlikely to want to let his key player go, especially mid-season. Despite this, the January transfer window is expected to be a hot one, and Isak's move could be its biggest surprise.
