Manchester United are working hard to speed up talks over the transfer of PSG left-back Nuno Mendes as interest in the Portuguese grows. Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Manchester City have begun monitoring the situation and could enter the race for the player.
According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United are in one of the leading positions in the talks, but no significant progress has been made. PSG are asking €65 million for Mendes, who is under contract until 2026.
Real, who are also in need of a left-back, may be put off from trying to sign Alphonso Davies due to his possible extension at Bayern Munich, which opens up further competition.
It is also understood that Mendes could be willing to sign a new deal with PSG, leaving the outcome of the current talks uncertain.
Manchester United will certainly continue to pursue a move for the promising 22-year-old, but it is safe to assume that the player himself is currently leaning towards more attractive projects such as Manchester City and Real Madrid.
