Chelsea striker could make a move. Sunderland emerge as main contender for Tyrique George
Sunderland have officially entered the race for Chelsea's 19-year-old forward Tyrique George.
Details: According to journalist Keith Downie, Sunderland are one of two Premier League clubs showing serious interest in the young London talent.
Chelsea's management has decided to make the player available for transfer or loan during the current January window. Despite George’s promise as a forward, the fierce competition in the Blues' attack has limited his playing time. The club is open to offers that could help the youngster develop at a higher level.
Fulham could become Sunderland's main rival in the race for the striker. The London Cottagers came very close to signing George last summer, but the deal collapsed at the last moment. Now, Fulham remain interested in the player as they look to finish what they started and reinforce their frontline with a young and clinical attacker.
This season, George has already made a name for himself, netting 3 goals and providing 1 assist in 11 matches. Transfermarkt values him at €22 million.
Reminder: Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is mentioned in the new “Epstein files.”
