Chelsea set to extend contract with academy talent Acheampong
Chelsea continues to focus on securing young talents who can contribute to the team’s future success. The club has taken another step in this direction.
Details: According to David Ornstein, Chelsea has reached an agreement to extend the contract of 18-year-old right-back Josh Acheampong, considered one of the brightest prospects from the club's academy.
Acheampong’s current deal, which expires in the summer of 2026, will be extended until the end of the 2028/29 season.
The youngster has made two appearances across all competitions this season, and Chelsea reportedly views him as a potential long-term replacement for Reece James.
Reminder: Yesterday, it was revealed that Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk tested positive for a banned substance in a doping test.
