Chelsea have been performing fairly well so far this season, but the club are already thinking ahead and planning further squad reinforcement.
Details: According to Matt Law, Chelsea’s hierarchy are considering a move for a new midfielder. The aim is to ease the workload on Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández, as injuries to Lavia and Essugo have forced Enzo Maresca to deploy Reece James and Malo Gusto in central midfield. Chelsea have shown interest in Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton.
In addition, if necessary, the club will be ready to pursue the signing of a central defender. However, they will first wait for Levi Colwill to return and assess whether it is possible to sell one of the current centre-backs before deciding if a new signing is required.
Reminder: Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has explained that Estêvão has a minor issue that will prevent him from playing. He will also miss Chelsea’s upcoming match.
