Chelsea might break the transfer record in women's football

Chelsea is ready to splash out and this time set a transfer record in women's football, as reported by Relevo.
The Blues are prepared to break the transfer record and pay £2.5 million for the Ballon d'Or winner, Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí. This sum is stipulated as her release clause in her contract. Currently, Bonmatí has not agreed on a new contract with the Catalan club, and her current deal expires in 2025.
Barcelona and Lyon battled in the UEFA Women's Champions League final. The Catalan team defended their title as Europe's best team, which they won a year earlier. Aitana Bonmatí scored the winning goal in that match.
It's worth noting that Bonmatí made her debut for the first team during the Spanish Cup quarter-final match against Real Sociedad, where she provided an assist. Overall, Aitana Bonmatí has scored 89 goals in 256 matches throughout her career.
