Chelsea make improved bid for Gittens, but Borussia immediately reject it
Chelsea are persisting in their attempts to secure the transfer of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and remain locked in negotiations over the fee.
Details: According to insider Florian Plettenberg, the London club offered the German side €50 million for the deal. However, Borussia wasted no time in turning down the bid, despite earlier reports that their asking price was in the €50–60 million range.
Previously, we reported that Chelsea had submitted a €35 million offer for the player to Dortmund, which was also rejected. Meanwhile, Gittens himself has already agreed to join Enzo Maresca's squad.
Reminder: Earlier reports indicated that Gittens is set to sign a seven-year contract with Chelsea. Last season, the Englishman featured in 48 matches for Borussia, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists.
