Aubameyang's career has been nothing short of spectacular, filled with both soaring highs and crushing lows.
Details: In his interview with the Daily Mail, 36-year-old Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened up about the most challenging moments of his journey, admitting that joining certain clubs turned out to be major missteps:
“My worst club? Chelsea… I think it was a BIG mistake. At the time, I was going through a tough period at Barcelona. I became the victim of a robbery at my home, and Barça had to sell a player—either me or Memphis Depay—and the only real option was Chelsea.
So I said, ‘Alright, for my family, I’ll make the move, even if it’s to Chelsea.’ I told myself things might work out, since Olivier Giroud had no trouble moving from Arsenal to Chelsea, but for me, it was completely different…” Aubameyang admitted.
Aubameyang joined Chelsea in September 2022 from Barcelona for €12 million. He spent just one season at Stamford Bridge before moving to French side Marseille in the summer of 2023. During his stint at Chelsea, the Gabonese forward made 21 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.
