Chelsea has initiated a search for a replacement for their 39-year-old central defender Thiago Silva, as reported by the Evening Standard.

It has been revealed that the London club is considering 18-year-old Leny Yoro from Lille as the primary target to succeed the Brazilian. Additionally, it is reported that the strategy of Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Begdade Egbali is to sign two or three top players under the age of 23 for each position. Alongside Leny Yoro, alternative options in the central defense include Usman Diomande from Sporting and Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.

Furthermore, two English Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Barcelona defender Jules Koundé. According to Barcacentre, Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen on acquiring the services of the 25-year-old French defender.

Additionally, according to renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano, the London club intends to reinforce the left flank of their defense in the upcoming transfer window. Chelsea will require a new left-back as Ian Maatsen, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is unlikely to return to London.
