With Xabi Alonso appointed as the club's new head coach for next season, Chelsea have now identified the players they consider untouchable and who are certain to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Details: According to The Athletic, the London club has drawn up a list of players who are regarded as indispensable and will not be made available for transfer. The group includes Reece James, Cole Palmer, Moisés Caicedo, Estêvão Willian, Levi Colwill, João Pedro and Josh Acheampong.
It has also emerged that Xabi Alonso is determined to keep Enzo Fernández at the club and plans to personally convince the midfielder to stay.
Earlier, it was reported that Manchester United and Manchester City had entered the race to sign Marc Cucurella. Chelsea reportedly placed a price tag of around €50 million on the Spaniard, immediately attracting the attention of several European heavyweights.
Reminder: Xabi Alonso is reportedly far from convinced by the reliability of Chelsea's current goalkeepers, prompting the Blues to actively search for a new first-choice shot-stopper.
