Chelsea have found a replacement for Gallagher in a midfielder that Atalanta are interested in
There are plenty of indications that midfielder Conor Gallagher and Chelsea will part ways in the summer, but now the Pensioners need to look out for a replacement. One has been found nearby, namely in Scotland.
According to The Sun, the eyes of the London club representatives fell on Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley. The 23-year-old from Glasgow is thought to be the ideal replacement for Gallagher, who previously refused to renew his contract with Chelsea and has been suspended from training with the first team.
Celtic have already rejected Southampton's offer for O'Riley, which is believed to be around £14million, and £20million is the amount that could force the Scottish giants to agree a deal.
Gallagher is close to a move to Atlético Madrid, who were interested in the Danish midfielder over the winter. Atalanta are now showing interest in O'Riley.
