Chelsea is on the lookout for a prolific forward as they do not count on Romelu Lukaku and want to offload the Belgian. While Chelsea were previously linked with Girona's Artem Dovbyk, another player has now emerged on their radar.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Chelsea has already held talks with representatives of Lille forward Jonathan David. The 24-year-old Canadian international is among the players that the London club is considering to bolster their attacking line ahead of the upcoming season.

David's contract with Lille expires next summer, and with the club's president not ruling out his potential departure publicly, it is expected that the forward could be available at a reasonable price.

David has been with Lille since August 2020 and is the club's record signing at 32 million euros. He is also their top scorer in the 21st century with 83 goals.
