Chelsea has reconsidered selling their midfielder and negotiations may commence soon
Recently, Chelsea was considering the option of selling their key midfielder Conor Gallagher.
However, according to The Guardian, the London club's management may change their stance. Chelsea could soon begin active negotiations for a new contract with Gallagher. There are hints that the parties will resume contract talks after Euro 2024.
To recap, Conor is a product of Chelsea's youth academy and has been with the club since the age of six. He signed his first professional contract in March 2017.
Additionally, financial fair play issues might force Chelsea to undertake a significant squad clear-out to raise funds, and Gallagher could play a pivotal role in this. The midfielder has attracted interest from Aston Villa and Atlético Madrid.
Gallagher's behaviour at the club is considered exemplary, with the player not campaigning for a contract extension with Chelsea. The 24-year-old midfielder's current agreement with the club runs until the summer of 2025.
