Chelsea has lost the most matches among all Premier League teams in 2023

Chelsea has set a new record for defeats. In today's match against Wolverhampton in the Premier League, the "Blues" lost 2-1. This defeat became the 19th for the team in the Premier League in 2023.

The statistical portal Opta notes that no other team has lost more matches in the Premier League this year. In the top 5 European leagues, only three teams have lost more matches than Chelsea. Italian Empoli and German Werder lost 20 matches each, while Spanish Almeria lost 24.

Following today's match, the London-based team remained in 10th place. Interestingly, Chelsea is closer to the relegation zone than the European qualification zone.

It's worth noting that Chelsea will play two more matches this year. On December 27th, the "Blues" will host Crystal Palace, and three days later, they will face Luton.
