Chelsea's problems in the English Premier League may get worse.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea may be deprived of some points in the English Premier League due to financial irregularities related to the actions of former president Roman Abramovich. Experts are already working on resolving this issue.

The source writes that the club under Abramovich made secret payments worth tens of millions of pounds. They were carried out through the offshore companies of a Russian businessman.

The Premier League is confident that such tranches may indicate a violation of the financial fair play rules.

The investigation established that the money was received by Eden Hazard's agent, assistant coach Antonio Conte, as well as representatives of Willian and Samuel Eto'o.

Interestingly, Chelsea have already been fined for violations in financial documentation. If it is proven that Abramovich’s payments also contradict the financial rules of the Premier League, the club could be deprived of points in the current championship.

The investigation into Chelsea is currently ongoing.
