Two top clubs of the English Premier League could face expulsion due to breaches of Financial Fair Play rules, as reported by The Sun.

The clubs in question are Chelsea and Manchester City. In the fall of 2024, an independent commission will review the case of Chelsea. No accusations have been leveled against the "Blues" at present, but financial irregularities were detected in the summer of 2023. These violations were committed during the tenure of the club's former owner, Roman Abramovich.

The breaches involved payments to agents from accounts that were not accounted for in the club's financial records. As for Manchester City, in February 2023, the club was accused of 115 violations of Financial Fair Play rules.

If found guilty, the clubs could face sanctions such as expulsion from the Premier League.

It's worth noting that Nottingham Forest had four points deducted due to breaches of Financial Fair Play rules. It is worth reminding that in the current season, points have already been deducted from one team. Everton initially had ten points deducted, but during the season, four points were reinstated to them.
