Chelsea and Arsenal join the race for Nottingham defender Murillo
Nottingham Forest defender Murillo is drawing serious attention from some of Europe's top clubs.
Details: According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea and Arsenal are all actively monitoring the 23-year-old centre-back.
Chelsea have been tracking him since the summer, with new manager Enzo Maresca identifying him as a key target to bolster the back line. Maresca values defenders who can launch attacks from deep, a trait Murillo has consistently showcased at Forest.
Arsenal are also showing strong interest. Mikel Arteta has long admired Murillo's progressive playing style and his ability to carry the ball through midfield. The Gunners see him as someone who can immediately strengthen their defense alongside William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.
The defender's price tag could complicate any transfer, as Forest are valuing him at €80–90 million. Nevertheless, the club is willing to consider serious offers that come close to their asking price.
This season, the Brazilian has made twelve appearances for Nottingham, scoring once against Liverpool. Transfermarkt currently values him at €55 million.
Reminder: In their match against Nottingham, Liverpool equaled a 60-year-old negative record.
