Checkpoint. Liverpool tops the Premier League table at Christmas for the 21st time in its history
Liverpool and Tottenham delivered a spectacular clash for the fans, scoring a combined total of nine goals. The Reds left London with a commanding 6-3 victory.
Following this match, Arne Slot’s side solidified their position in the league standings, extending their lead over second-placed Chelsea to four points.
Notably, Liverpool tops the English top-flight table at Christmas for the 21st time in its history — the best record among all English clubs. However, the more significant aspect lies elsewhere. In the previous 20 instances, the Reds managed to win the English championship at the end of the season only 11 times.
Looking ahead, the Merseysiders still have two more matches to play this year. On December 26, Liverpool will host Leicester at Anfield, followed by a trip to West Ham three days later.
