Harry Kane’s decisive contribution in the match against Real Madrid sent shockwaves through the competition for world football’s top individual honor.
Details: According to Polymarket, the English striker’s odds shot up instantly on the Polymarket platform right after he scored against Los Blancos, propelling him into sole leadership in the Ballon d'Or race. Now, the Bayern forward’s chances of claiming the Ballon d'Or are rated at 27%.
This achievement allowed Kane to dethrone Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal from the top spot, whose rating dropped to 22%. That’s the same percentage currently held by Kylian Mbappé, who now shares second place with the Spaniard in the list of contenders. Rounding out the top four is Vinicius Junior with 7%, trailing significantly behind the leading trio after the latest shake-up in the standings.
It’s also worth noting that the Champions League quarterfinal itself ended in a 2-1 victory for Bayern, bringing them one step closer to the semifinals.
Reminder: Bayern winger Michael Olise rewrote French football history with a remarkable milestone.
