Changes are on the horizon. The first NFL players have tested the new helmets
The National Football League is prioritizing player safety with the introduction of a new helmet—the Guardian Cap.
According to Bild, this helmet features a soft padding designed to enhance safety. It has been approved by the NFL for the past two years and has recently gained traction.
Six league players have already tested it during preseason games, including Jonathan Taylor and four other Indianapolis Colts players. James Daniels of the Pittsburgh Steelers has also tried the new helmet, stating he genuinely does not want to remove the helmet's protective layer.
However, it remains uncertain whether the helmet will be used during the regular season. The league is committed to minimizing the impact of head injuries, analyzing which models offer the best protection each season using a designated chart.
Additionally, the NFL has introduced rule changes for the upcoming season, specifically affecting coaches.
