Gaston Sirino put his hands on hears his face as he was stretched off by medical personnel at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

What made matters worse was that Sirino was stretched off having looked lively for Chiefs against Zamalek in a Caf Confederation Cup game they were trailing.

The nippy Uruguayan midfielder had just sent a shot from outside the box which hit the post after Amakhosi just conceded earlier to silence the Polokwane 2010 venue filled with Chiefs supporters.

Chiefs coach though, Cedric Kaze, has allayed those fears as the injury to the former Mamelodi Sundowns player was not as severe.

“It was a knock and we’re going to assess him tonight and tomorrow to examine the extent of his injury, but I don’t think it’s something very big,” Kaze told SABC Sport after the match.

Sirino went off within the first 15 minutes of the match alongside his team-mate Bradley Cross who felt pain after colliding with Zamalek attacker early on.

These substitutes saw Chiefs game plan go pear shape as it became an uphill battle from there on.

“Ok, the game didn’t go in our favour from the first minute, we conceded after three minutes, we have to make our two substitutions after 15 minutes we had already two substitutions, but we kept believing that we could come back,” Kaze said after the 1-1 draw.
