Cedric Kaze on Kaizer Chiefs missing Thabo Cele and Ethan Chislett: It was a technical ecision to leave Thabo out but Ethan was not well
Cedric Kaze has clarified that Thabo Cele missed Kaizer Chiefs’ game against Durban City based on technical reasons while Ethan Chislett was on injury.
The midfield duo were expected to play a leading role for Amakhosi against Durban City on Sunday but both were absent as Chiefs won the game 1-0 via a Glody Lilepo fine strike.
Lilepo’s strike from outside the box beat City’s Darren Keet hands down at FNB Stadium.
Cele has been one of the impressive players for Chiefs this season but faded through injury while Chislett impressed on debut at Richards Bay and expectations on him have been high since then.
“About Thabo Cele, it’s a technical decision,” said Kaze after the game.
“Every team needs consistency to get better results. It’s something that maybe people don’t talk enough about,” he added.
“I think that we have been very, very, very unfortunate in terms of injuries and suspensions that have crippled the team and didn’t allow us to have better runs into our lineup.
“I believe that if we don’t have as much injuries, we would have been more consistent than we were.”
