Liverpool's summer transfer window was notably underwhelming, with Federico Chiesa being the only major signing. This was partly attributed to the arrival of a new manager, but experts believe that fresh additions in the winter window will be crucial if the team is serious about competing for the Premier League title.

Details: Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is among those calling for reinforcements. He stressed that if the club has genuine ambitions to challenge for the Premier League crown, we can expect new transfers in the winter.

Quote: "Like last season, they are very determined to fight for the Premier League title. We mustn't forget that. They didn’t strengthen much over the summer. It will be very interesting to see if Liverpool brings anyone in during January. They didn’t have many offers over the summer.

And if they believe they have a real shot at the title and there’s a player who fits their criteria, fits their model, I think they will spend the money to bring that player in," Carragher told Sky Sports.

Reminder: Liverpool is also dealing with uncertainty regarding key players, as it's unclear whether Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah will remain at the club when their contracts expire in the summer of 2025.
