Forward Bertrand Traoré, representing the Burkina Faso national team, will depart Aston Villa to join the ranks of the Spanish club Villarreal.

As per information from the renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano, the player has reached an agreement with Aston Villa to terminate his contract. In Spain, the 28-year-old will make the move as a free agent.

Bertrand Traoré became an Aston Villa player in September 2020. The Birmingham-based club acquired the footballer from Lyon for a fee of 18 million euros.

Lately, the Burkinabé player has found himself surplus to requirements in Birmingham. In the 2022-23 seasons, he was loaned out to the Turkish club Başakşehir.

In the current campaign, the player has only amassed 44 minutes across all competitions (in six matches), contributing with one assist.

Traoré recently concluded his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with the Burkina Faso national team, scoring three goals in four matches during the tournament.
