Cape Town City and Milford FC await a PSL team for the Relegation/Play-Off mini tournament

Cape Town City have a chance to return to the Betway Premiership next season after they secured a place in the PSL Relegation/Play-Off spot.

City finished second in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a 4-2 win over Leicesterford City at Dobsonville Stadium yesterday.

A brace from Jaedin Rhodes and goals from Dzenan Zaimovic and Gabriel Amato were enough in Soweto as The Citizens secured themselves a place in the Play-Offs.

City were relegated last season after failing to take advantage of the second chance via the Play-Offs to stay in the elite division as Orbit College won promotion.

Milford FC are also part of the three team mini tournament to determine the 16th PSL team after finishing third on the Motsepe Foundation standings.

But the PSL's 15th place team will be clearer this weekend as the league finishes on Saturday.

It could be either Orbit College, Marumo Gallants, Magesi FC and Chippa United as they are the teams who are in the PSL relegation quagmire.

The mini league will start on the May 26 with National First Division teams facing each other which is Milford and Cape Town City in this case.
