As Hugo Broos starts greeting the nation at 7pm in front of cameras and as he sets his microphone to call his final squad for the Fifa World Cup next month, four players will have their anxieties tested.

The quartet are Bradley Cross, Lebohang Maboe, Thabiso Monyane and Brandon Peterson.

These Chiefs players have not been drafted into the national side before with the exception of Monyane, who received a call up under Broos.

But the rest this is the first time the national team coach considered them albeit in the preliminary squad.

As the Belgian announces his team the Kaizer Chiefs quartet will be tested as they have made the squad through the back door if you put it that way.

For the longest of time, Broos has been vocal that he has not been impressed by any of the Chiefs players and this was backed by lack of success on the domestic front for the side.

And now the addition of these players is backed by the fact that, in a six seasons, Chiefs have finished third in the Betway Premiership.

This was largely through the impact the players made and Bros duly rewarded them.

But, to be frank, from the four only two stand a realistic chance of making the final squad.

And that is right-back Monyane and goalkeeper Peterson.

But Broos will have the final say later this evening.
