Cameroon is the African nation that has used the most players in the FIFA World Cup
The Indomitable Lions have participated in the final phase of the competition eight times.
No African nation has played in the FIFA World Cup as many times as Cameroon. The Cameroonian team set this record for the African continent thanks to its participation in the final stages of the World Cup in 1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2022.
With this record number of appearances, the Cameroonian national team is also the African nation to have used the most players. Ninety-nine players have been used during the Indomitable Lions' eight appearances. Among them, two have distinguished themselves by playing at least 10 matches in the final phase of the world tournament. They are Omam-Biyik, who played 11 World Cup matches, and Roger Milla, who played 10. Cameroon made a name for itself in 1990 by reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
However, the Indomitable Lions have not qualified for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place next summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
