Cameroon Allocates 80 Million FCFA for Cars for Marc Brys and Assistant Amid Criticism
The Cameroonian government has approved the purchase of two new vehicles totaling 80.8 million FCFA for Indomitable Lions head coach Marc Brys and his assistant, Joachim Mununga.
This decision, which was signed by Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze on October 21, 2024, elicited conflicting reactions from commentators.
The document states:
"The sum of 80,800,000 FCFA is authorized for the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education for the acquisition of vehicles for the Indomitable Lions' head coach and his assistant."
While some see this as a sign of government support for Brys, others recall that former coach Rigobert Song had to make do with an aging Prado that was never repaired. Given the ongoing hostilities between the government and the federation, the action is also interpreted as a message to Fecafoot President Samuel Eto'o.
Brys has been given the best working conditions since he arrived, and this most recent action demonstrates the state's dedication to making sure he has all the tools he needs to be successful.
