The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the final list of candidates for the 2024 Coach of the Year award, honoring the best managers in Africa.
Marcel Koller, the head coach of Al Ahly, is one of the nominees. He led the Egyptian team to their 11th CAF Champions League victory earlier this year.
Alongside Koller on the esteemed list are Hugo Broos (South Africa), Pedro Gonçalves (Mauritania), Emerse Faé (Ivory Coast), and Sébastien Desabre (DR Congo), all of whom had notable success with their teams.
On December 16, a lavish awards event will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, to celebrate the winners. Walid Regragui of Morocco won the award last year after he achieved history by guiding his country to the FIFA World Cup semifinals in 2022.
The competition this year demonstrates the increasing influence of African coaches in club and international football.
