CAF Champions League: change of referee for the 15 de Agosto v Simba SC match
Amin Mohamed Omar replaces Ahmad Imtehaz Heeralall
Football news
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has made a change to the referee for the match between 15 de Agosto and Simba SC, scheduled for Tuesday 20 October, as part of the first leg of the second qualifying round of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League.
Originally appointed to officiate this fixture, Mauritian referee Ahmad Imtehaz Heeralall will ultimately be unable to travel to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. To replace him, the governing body of African football has selected the Egyptian Amin Mohamed Omar.
This change comes on the eve of the match, which will be played behind closed doors in Dar es Salaam. As there is no CAF-approved stadium in Equatorial Guinea, 15 de Agosto will have to host Simba SC on Tanzanian soil.
