CAF Champions League: 15 de Agosto v Simba SC to be played behind closed doors
The first leg of the second preliminary round of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League between the clubs from Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania will be played without supporters.
As there is no CAF-approved stadium in Equatorial Guinea, 15 de Agosto will host Simba SC on Tanzanian soil. However, this change of venue means supporters will not be able to take their places in the stands to support their team on Tuesday 20 October.
Negotiations aimed at allowing the public access to the Uhuru Stadium have failed. The match will therefore take place behind closed doors, depriving both teams of their supporters’ backing for this first leg.
Both teams will have to focus on the sporting stakes of this continental clash. Each side will attempt to capitalise on this match to gain an advantage ahead of the second leg.
