CAF backs Gianni Infantino’s re-election as FIFA President
For the 2027–2031 term
The 54 member associations of African football’s governing body have given their approval.
This decision was announced following a meeting between the President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, and the member associations held on Wednesday 29 April 2026 in Vancouver, Canada.
This announcement comes as the 76th FIFA Congress is taking place on Thursday 30 April. Gianni Infantino can therefore count on the unanimous support of the CAF member associations for his re-election as FIFA President for the 2027–2031 term.
