Although Africa and Europe are worlds apart, their cooperation continues to grow across various sectors—and football is no exception.

Details: The Confederation of African Football has announced a landmark partnership with the European Commission. The European Commission will become an official partner for several continental tournaments, including the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, and the African Schools Football Championship.

In return, one of the European Union's main governing bodies will use this platform to promote its €150 billion Global Gateway investment program, aimed at boosting infrastructure, connectivity, and education throughout Africa.

Reminder: Previously, CAF president and former Mamelodi Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe stated that "Masandawana can compete with clubs from Scandinavia and Greece in terms of player salaries," which helps keep their stars from moving to Europe.
