CAF and TotalEnergies Extend Partnership to Sponsor African Football Until 2028
The Confederation of African Football CAF and TotalEnergies have extended their partnership for another 4 years, covering the period from 2025 to 2028, the agreement was finalized in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, just a day after the AFCON 2025 Final Draw.
12 CAF competitions will remain under TotalEnergies sponsorship, including TotalEnergies Africa Cup of nations in 2025 and 2027, the women’s Africa Cup of nations and several youth tournaments, in addition the energy giant will support the CAF African schools football championship.
Patrice Motsepe, President of the CAF, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, Highlighting TotalEnergies commitment to African football beyond financial contributions.
Motsepe stressed that this collaboration enhances the global competitiveness of football in all 54 CAF member states.
“The company's proud to continue celebrating African football and sharing passion with millions of fans,” said Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies.
The partnership also secures sponsorship for other major CAF events, including:
- CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN)
- CAF Champions League
- CAF Confederation Cup
- CAF Super Cup
- CAF U17,U20, and U23 Africa cup of Nations
- CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations
- CAF Awards
This is renewal reinforces TotalEnergies role as major supporter of African football, ensuring the continued growth and success of the sport across the continent.
