Busted! Erling Haaland caught up in cocaine scandal

Erling Haaland has found his face on a product he would certainly want nothing to do with.

Details: Ecuadorian police seized 469 kilograms of cocaine near the Colombian border. Authorities discovered 370 packages of the drug hidden in a secret compartment in a truck's undercarriage. Each package bore a sticker featuring Norwegian national team star Erling Haaland.

According to police, the seized batch is valued at over €17 million on the European market. During the operation, the truck driver and a woman carrying Colombian documents were detained.

Using celebrities on packaging does not necessarily imply any connection between these individuals and the criminals involved. Such images can serve as a type of label, allowing drug networks to indicate the origin of a shipment or its intended recipient. Previously, confiscated packages have also featured Lionel Messi's image.

It’s worth noting that Ecuador is considered one of the key logistical hubs for drug trafficking from Colombia and Peru to the United States and Europe. In just the first half of 2026, Ecuadorian police seized around 80 tons of narcotics.
