Despite Burnley's relegation from the Premier League, goalkeeper James Trafford has managed to attract interest from top Premier League clubs who could be in the running for the player.

According to Football Insider, the 21-year-old goalkeeper has attracted the interest of Liverpool and Newcastle, however, the big-name clubs are not ready to give Trafford the first fiddle in the team.

Both teams treat the goalkeeper as a second-choice player. Especially acute issue of understudy is for Liverpool, who may sell second choice goalkeeper Kaoimhin Kelleher to Celtic in the summer.

Newcastle are also concerned about finding a second goalkeeper for Nick Pope, as his current understudy Martin Dubravka is already 35 years old.

However, complicating the transition could be the price tag that both clubs would have to meet to formalise the transfer. Burnley value the 21-year-old goalkeeper at £20 million.
