Burkina Faso’s Stallions kick off their training camp in Ouagadougou

Amir Abdou and his team are beginning their preparations for the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nine of the 25 players called up have already arrived at the training base in Ouagadougou. They are Dango Ouattara, Ismahila Ouedraogo, Issa Kaboré, Landry Kaboré, Bebel Doumbia, Rachid Gnanou, Kilian Nikiema, Ousseni Bouda and Axel Taonsa.

The squad will gradually be completed with the arrival of the other players called up by Amir Abdou. The Burkina Faso team will fine-tune their strategy in Ouagadougou before kicking off their qualifying campaign.

For their opening match in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Stallions will host Benin on 25 September at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou. Burkina Faso will then travel to Morocco to face the Central African Republic on 28 September, on the second matchday.

To round off the international break, Amir Abdou and his players will travel to Argentina for a friendly match against Lionel Messi and his team-mates on 3 October in Buenos Aires.

But ahead of these three fixtures, the 25 players called up will be training in Ouagadougou to fine-tune their playing system.
